Why is floating so enjoyable? This is me having my first paddle in the new Kayak during labour weekend 07, despite the photos it was blowing a gale out of the bay so I did not get to go too far. This new year I will go for a more decent paddle, maybe across to the Noises or somewhere.

Ablusions Waiheke style 2007.. long may it survive.
Dorothy Nugents house as I remember it as a child taken during the 1970s.
My Great Grandmother Dorothy Nugent in the bow of this dinghy.. full tide, Enclosure Bay, 1940s?
"We're going to the bach". or, "down to Waiheke"....or , "On the ferry", short phrases, simple sentences. You know it is said that a picture paints a thousand words.., these few words paint a thousand pictures for me , memories, times I had as a child.. times my children now experience , the same things that generations of children in our family have experienced ...core, basic if you like. The sea, the air, nature... the long drop. Basic, core.. but rich, intricate and beyond price.
